Yes Fabulous Friends, I am an Adele Devotee. When Hello came out as a single a few weeks back, I immediately went to Apple Music to see what songs would be on her new album 25, that drops today.
The song titles all looked extremely intriguing, Sweetest Devotion, Send My Love (To Your New Lover), Remedy, When We Were Young…. Just to name a few.
I made the decision to pre-order the album, despite already paying $9.99 a month for Apple Music (great streaming service. Love the unique playlists).
I debated the decision to pre-order the album for weeks. I am already paying $9.99 a month why own the album? I should log into iTunes and cancel it. Of course, I never got around to doing it. I have the attention span of a flea. Sitting me down to do something takes weeks.
Last night about 11:20pm I got my notification on my iPhone, “Your Pre-Order is Ready.” Too late to cancel the purchase now.
Well I am glad I missed that opportunity. Adele’s 25 will NOT be available for streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, etc.
If you want it, you have to buy it. Period.
I am glad I didn’t cancel the pre-order decision. 25 is brilliant. Classic Adele with the same power, clarity and soul that made her such a magnetic chanteuse on her debut 21.
Is 25 as groundbreaking as 21? No.
Is 25 an excellent follow up to 21? Yes.
Right now, as I sip my coffee on the bus, River Lea is playing and it’s quite unique.
Adele has more group harmonies on this album. Upbeat tempos in songs like River Lea and Send My Love (To Your New Lover). Adele is staying true to who she is, yet maturing and experimenting.
Songs about relationships ending, regret, life experiences, and apologies are frequent, however that is Adele’s power. She makes the emotions raw and real. As I listen, I can identify with her words, that’s what Adele is aiming for from all her listeners. Identification.
Adele will also be the musical guest on SNL this Saturday night! I wonder which song besides Hello she will perform? Anyone want to venture a guess?
Stay Fabulous!! XO.
