180 Degree Turn Day ~ Grateful Bits

November 10, 2015

Yesterday was filled with sadness and constant bad news.  Today, the bad things still exist, however they were supplemented by moments of gratitude.

Even on a darkest day, in the middle of the strongest storm, there are still things to be grateful for.  Large and small.

A friend let me talk freely about an issue bothering me and put up with me being a snotty, obstinate, stubborn pain in the ass.  Called me out on it too.  How awesome was that?  Doesn’t matter what the issue was, I am grateful to have this friend.   Anyone brave enough to call me out when I am being my worst and is able turn the tables so I can SEE where I am being a jerk (not just tell me, a full visual view) gets my undying devotion.

Another appeared out of the blue and we agreed to meet for a long overdue lunch.  How nice is that to have someone ring you up out of the blue and say “let’s get together?”  Or “I miss you.”  Thank you to my friend for making me feel extra special today.  I am grateful.

My 20 year old son, looked me in the eyes and said “I love you Mom,” BEFORE I did!

Usually when I get home, my Skinny Man is in his chair, watching the news. I give him a kiss on the forehead and ask him how is day was.  Then, before I walk away, I always say “I love you.”  Usually I get a “love you too” in response.

Tonight My Skinny Man said the “I love you” first!!  Small, yet awesome wonderful moment.  Warmed up my heart on this cold, rainy day.

I can’t change the bad things, but I can appreciate the positive.

What do YOU Treasure?

Question to all of you:

Share what you’re grateful for!  I would love to hear from you and am grateful for your continued readership.  XO
