New York City is dynamic, loud, frenetic and downright exhausting. As a psuedo-native, I am used to the everyday chaos that makes my city true to its reputation. It is the “city that never sleeps.”
It’s home. I took those tests on Facebook, there is no where else I should live! Nor could I. Robert DeNiro and I are true heart and soul New Yorkers. I love his commercials for “My New York” when it’s Tribeca Film Festival season.
The commercials feature the best places to go, some of them landmarks, some of them quiet spots.
Ask me if I have ever visited our landmarks? I can bet Mr. DeNiro has been to more of them than me.
Living here, you learn to block out the noise and appreciate the quiet beauty that New York City has to offer. I am particularly drawn to those quiet spots and use them to realign my mood or thought process on a regular basis.
Here are some that I particularly enjoy, photographed by me. Any comments or suggestions for improving my photography skills are welcome and encouraged!
The view from my express bus ride home over the 59th Street Bridge. After a long day, who wouldn’t find peace in this view?
The view down Park Avenue as I head to my office in the morning. Starbucks and Power Pumps in hand!
Peaceful and beautiful. Home.
I love New York’s skyline. Especially at night. No I have never visited the Empire State Building!
Lord knows we need them! This place is always jumping!
My fellow blogger Smiling Notes captures the beauty of our city much better than I do. If you don’t follow Smiling Notes, you should, she is very talented blogger and photographer. Here are two of her postings on New York City and the minute I read them I knew they had to be shared.
A Walk At The Riverfront
The Many Colors of Central Park
I love her photos, she captures the pure majesty of New York City. Central Park one of my favorite places to unwind and she makes it even more gorgeous.
Thank you to Smiling Notes for allowing me to reblog your posts and share them with my readers!
I hope you all enjoyed a little of the quiet serenity that is New York City. I love my home and if you are visiting soon, check them out!
Have a Good Weekend! 💋~Miranda
