Be Kind to Yourself Monday.

Hi My Power Team!  So sorry I didn’t write Stay True to Yourself Friday. I actually started a column on perseverance while I was on the commute home and fell asleep!   


Yes, I persevered to finish my column and zzzzzzz….  Almost missed my bus stop!

My body just quit on me. Literally and figuratively.  Wasn’t happy day on Friday. 

I was in bed asleep by 9pm. Gone are the nights where 11pm was my starting time. 

Remember those days? We would get to the club at midnight, dance till 4am and then head to the diner at 5am for breakfast. Oh those days were fun. 

I didn’t lose any weight last week.  Not even an ounce. I am still persevering though, I am still following The 100 and hopefully this week will be better results. Standing on the scale I felt like I was watching an episode of The Biggest Loser where the contestants work out for hours at a time, eat Subway (not exactly my idea of healthy), and then don’t drop any weight. 

Then the entire weekend I felt off. Really tired, grumpy and just not myself. 

So I decided to be kind to myself and just take a break.  Everyone deserves a break and this was time for me.  

 I slept in, read books, saw some friends and tried to stick to my diet as much as I could.  Weekends are not easy, food is a staple in my house, especially starchy pastas!!  

  I am back from my break and no worse for the wear. Everyone deserves time to be kind to themselves. Relaxation and recuperation are essential to all of us.
