Wednesday Wisdom… Sugar-Free at Last

I may have disrupted my diet by my own hand on Sunday at the wedding (see my Wedding Crashers post), but today is a new day.  Via Sunday’s chocolate cake indulgence, I learned a lesson in restraint and have moved on. 

Today, Wednesday July 16, 2015 I am proud to report that I officially have ZERO cravings for sugary foods.  The 100 diet by Jorge Cruise has truly gotten me past my sweet tooth. 

ZERO, Zip, Nada, Niente, Non!!

That Milky Way bar can stay on the shelf.  No Godiva Pearls in my purse anymore, they’ve been replaced with Altoids.

See ya Sugar!  Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!  My ass will no longer be grazing the doorframe on the way out either!  

  
I have to say, I have NOT been hungry or felt deprived while eating on The 100.  Having real food has been both satisfying and delicious. I am a huge fan of green vegetables.  Kale and Spinach are daily foods, along with string beans, Brussel sprouts, zucchini and broccoli. Oh, I had some okra today. Not one of my most favored but was good.  

If anyone has a good okra recipe, send my way. It’s supposed to be a “super food,” I like anything that’s “super”. 

On The 100 I am eating meats, eggs, salads, and cheese!  Who loses weight eating cheese?

I have!

My initial mood swings are subsiding. Dear goodness, if you read any of last week’s posts you can read my scattered insanity while initially detoxing. I read through some of my blog posts and my anger was on full display. 

Not today though!  I feel fresh, sharp, more focused than a week ago. I was exceptionally productive at work today, no 11am snack or 3pm sweets craving. No energy dips. 

Last night, I had a glass of wine at dinner (3oz and sipped slowly). Didn’t taste as sweet as normal. The wine tasted drier, my palate is adjusting too. I didn’t want a second glass. 

Now normally, 30 minutes after a glass of wine I would be raiding the candy or looking for a cookie. Whether or not I had, only 5 minutes prior, finished eating a full dinner.  Dessert was ALWAYS on my menu. Last night, nothing.

I haven’t weighed myself yet this week.  Weigh-ins are reserved for Friday. This week I hope to achieve another 3lbs lost, bringing my grand total to 8lbs in 2 weeks. That’s my hope. Fingers crossed that I have continued on my journey.
