Things That Make Us Smile

July 14, 2015

I could choose to sit here and drone on about my diet all week, but it’s not the best use of my time and energy.

Tuesday is the day to find positive, fun, distractions that make us smile. Distractions that, if only for a few minutes, take the weight of the world off our shoulders (and my waistline).

We still have Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to get through!  Everyone needs a  break.

Today’s things that make us smile are two videos by Superfruit. Some friends of mine posted them on Facebook and I thought they were great.

Here is a little bio info on Superfruit from Wikipedia:

  • Superfruit, is a comedy YouTube web show hosted by Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying, who are most well known as members of the a cappella group Pentatonix. While mainly focused on humor, the show also sometimes features vocal performances by Grassi and Hoying. The channel currently has over 1.4 million subscribers and well over 129 million views.

In the first video entitled Pop Goes Broadway (feat. Shoshana Bean) the duo puts a theater spin on pop hits.   Shoshana is best known for playing Elphaba in Broadway’s Wicked and she steals the video with her powerful voice. However, the guys are nothing short of amazing so, enjoy:

Wasn’t that great?  The wig was hysterical!

The second video is for all my Hip-Hop fans, of which I count myself one. My sons and I were laughing out loud to Superfruit’s Hip-Hop Goes Broadway:

If you’ve seen Rihanna’s video for B*tch Better Have My Money, you know there is no Broadway spin there!  Blame it on the alcohol!

Superfruit’s musical parodies rank right up there with Sean Hayes recent videos, I can share those next week!

No cheating and listening ahead of time. 😉

I hope you enjoyed today’s selections as much as I enjoyed sharing them with you.

Remember:  Smiles and laughter keep us young. They give a youthful glow to everyone’s face, far more than any anti-aging cream. Every Tuesday, take 15 minutes out to laugh and smile. It’s a small commitment with big, long-term benefits

Please share a smile with your fellow readers! Please comment or share something that made you smile today!
